About me

User: ezky
Name: Ez Ro aka ezky, ezqy, etc(y) caffeine-junky
I don't know about any of your interests, but i literally grew up on coffee, tea and even burnt rice when there wasn't a store to buy coffee from in the buquids and the coastal place where i grew up. I tried decaf, then yoga tasked me to shift to skim milk, vegetarian diet made me drink sentient carrot and fruit juice, then i discovered all those herbal whatnots and contemplated wearing pampers instead of under garments. Its coffee time once more and life seems so much better. Don't blame me if your life is so miserable, you probably haven't tried putting coffee in a dextrose straight into your veins! Would it be better than drugs? Tell me this drug is just like any other.

Kung Hei Fat Choi (advanced greetings) and a sad story from middle earth

It is but a few days before feb 4, 2007 when everyone like me who believes in feng shui, will move this or that appliance or furniture here and there and put whatnots in their proper places after the old whatnots are exposed to sunlight and sprayed with rock salt for cleansing.  To everyone, advance kung hei fat choi greetings!

The signalling of a new era has come for those born in the year of the boar, the rat and a few other chinese horoscope signs. By the year 2008 experts say, a new 12-year cycle will begin (the year of the rat is the first sign in the chinese horoscope). It will be a time of transition, hopefully from bad to good, or good to better. Well, at least, the incorrigible optimist (sometimes) that I am, perhaps many or most of us will truly find the changes for the better a bit refreshing.

However, while the calendar is still fixed on the period before the year of the boar, certain sour developments about a loyal soldier of the lady CEO were communicated to us from a far flung place in the Visayas.

Dear  ezky,

I  am  sorry  to  be  the  one  to  bring  bad  news  about  Benny,  our  mutual  friend.  He  was  killed  by  assassins  and  during  autopsy,  a  total  of  16  bullets  were  ascertained  to  have  found  their  way  into  his  body.

While  there  is  reported  serious  wrangling  within  the  political  opposition  --  really  a  considerable  number  of  opposition  officials  like  Sotto,  Aquino-Oreta,  Enrile,  etc.  (Why?)  are  leaving  their  allies  in  their  camp.  But  this  did  not  prevent  them  from  making  my  allies  leave  my  political  party  too.

In  our  place  here  in  Samar,  Hon.  Benny  Astorga,  Mayor  of  Daram,  Samar  was  killed  on  the  mid morning  of  25  January  2007  allegedly  by  the  hired  killers  of  an  opposition  Congressman,  Rep.  Catalino  Figueroa.  They  say  that  a  number  of  suspects  have  been  picked  up  by  authorities  in  Biliran  Province.  The  congressman  had  been  suspected  to  be  involved  in  several  ambushes  and  raids  to  kill  his  political  opponents  in  Samar  including  another  Mayor  --  Mila  Tan.  The  congressman  is  said  to  be  extremely  notorious  in  Region  8  for  being  ruthless  against  anyone  and  everyone  who  happens  to  cross  his  path.

Administration  allies  are  allegedly  being  sidelined  due  to  efforts  of  the  government  of  Mrs.  Arroyo  to  accommodate  as  many  personalities  from  the  other  side.  Some,  according  to  Benny’s  relatives  and  friends,  even  get  killed.  Look  at  the  case  of  Rep.  Luis  “Chito”  Bersamin.  His  assassination  remains  an  unsolved  case.

This  killing  of  Astorga  is  supposedly  part  of  the  wide  ranging  campaign  of  the  opposition  and  their  allies  in  the  forces  of  destabilization  to  decimate  the  administration  candidates.  It  did  not  just  claim  yet  another  victim  in  the  person  of  Mayor  Astorga.  This  campaign  is  many  other  things  besides,  including  the  suspected  killing  of  persons  that  are  from  the  camp  of  the  destabilizers  themselves.

Surprisingly,  in  the  case  Benny’s  assassination,  only  IBC  Channel  13  --  a  government-sequestered  television  channel  made  a  report  of  the  killing  but  all  the  other  TV  and  even  radio  stations  did  not  even  report,  if  briefly,   the  assassination.

Figueroa,  opposition  congressman  very  loyal  to  the  former  regime,  suspected  mastermind  in  the  killing  is  therefore  free  from  being  in  the  public's  eye.  Did  money  change  hands,  as  they  say  in  the  Inquirer  or  some  other  newspaper,  when  the  media  outlets  suddenly  stopped  reporting  about  the  Bersamin  case  --  that  up  to  now  is  an  unsolved  murder?  If  it  did,  then  the  one  who  bankrolled  the  damage  control  operations  must  have  known  about  the  assassination  in  advance  or  had  been  the  one  who  planned  it  so  that  he  knew  what  to  do  with  media  when  the  corpse  turns  up?

The  killing  of  Astorga  is  supposed  to  be  a  significant  development  since  Mrs.  Arroyo  knows  the  Mayor’s  sister,  a  manager  of  a  government  financial  institution,  one  of  the  remaining  public  officials  in  the  country  who  is  fiercely  honest  and  very  incorruptible.

Benny’s  sister’s  husband,  had  been  supportive  of  Mrs.  Arroyo  but  had  been  consistently  sidelined  for  the  past  four  or  so  years  in  the  distribution  of  Malacañang  favors  --  just  like  very  many  of  Mrs.  Arroyo’s  fierce  loyalists.  This  killing  of  Benny  Astorga,  understandably,  is  claimed  by  the  Mayor’s  relatives  as  the  lowest  point  in  Mrs.  Arroyo’s  leadership  because  there  is  no  word  of  condolences  from  Mrs.  Arroyo  who  conveniently  just  left  for  Switzerland,  went  back  and  may  have  merely  snubbed  the  assassination.

Mrs.  Arroyo,  they  claim,  cannot  protect  her  own  people  even  as  she  has  been  dodging  one  assassination  attempt  from  another,  one  coup  d’  etat  from  another  --  many  thanks  to  the  consistent  advanced  intelligence  from  her  loyalists  so  that  she  cannot  concentrate  on  the  welfare  of  her  own  people  --  even  if  they  have  been  serving  her  loyally  and  suffering  from  neglect  for  the  past  six  (6)  years  or  more.

Their  question  is:  What  if  Mrs.  Arroyo  is  suddenly  deserted  by  her  loyalists  or  worse,  if  they  turn  against  her.  It  is  not  a  question,  according  to  them  of  what  they  are  capable  of  doing,  but  the  karmic  effect  of  Mrs.  Arroyo’s  sidelining  her  own  people  in  her  suspected  endless  money  making  and  desire  to merely  survive  from  one  day  to  the  next.

The  political  opposition  is  in  complete  disarray.  However,  there  is  no  guarantee  that  the  situation  is  not  going  to  turn  for  the  better  for  the  opposition  if  the  government  will  continue  to  commit  the  grave  mistake  of  ignoring  the  suffering  of  its  loyal  people  who  are  wallowing  in  poverty  and  want  while  their  president  is  placating  and  almost  literally  already  sleeping  with  the  enemy!

Indeed,  a  serious  number  of  opposition  leaders  are  leaving  their  allies  in  the  destabilization  camp,  but  this  is  also  because  Mrs.  Arroyo  is  taking  them  with  open  arms.

All  the  government’s  successful  campaigns  (Mindanao  and  Luzon)  vs.  Abu  Sayaff  and  the  communists  will  go  to  naught  if  Mrs.  Arroyo’s  loyalists  distance  themselves  from  her.

For  the  nth  time,  those  who  care  for  her  have  consistently  recommended  that  top  level  support  be  given  to  all  her  people  that  have  religiously  been  doing  their  work  without  nary  a  thank  you  from  their  president!  It  had  been  sincerely  recommended  that  Mrs.  Arroyo  takes  stock  of  the  assets  and  loyal  personalities  who  up  to  this  time  are  still  delivering  the  goods  to  her,  especially  very  timely  intelligence  on  efforts  of  enemy  forces  to  overthrow  her  government  but  they  continue  to  be  sidelined  and  now  many  of  them  are  even  dead  or  in  grave  danger.

Mrs.  Arroyo  should  do  this  as  soon  as  possible  before  it  is  too  late.

I  certainly  sympathize  with  the  bereaved  relatives  and  closest  friends  of  the  late  Benny  Astorga,  a  no-nonsense  leader.  If  something  happens  to  the  lady  CEO,  of  course,  I  will  also  sympathize  with  her  own  relatives  and  friends.  The year of the Boar is trumpeted to be a time of change. I dearly hope, that it's forecast about a change in government will not happen so soon and in our country at that. Maybe lady CEO should be seriously reading this blog from now on.

And now, so  much  for  the  gory  stories.

Again,  Kung  hei  fat  choi!!!

Oy  vey!!!

The years of Luna

I simply cannot know what to do in 2007, as our expert feng shuists all keep saying, 2008 is my year.  Thus, 2007 is a year, daw, for lying low.

How do I lie low?  At least when you lie down, you're already low.  Do you have to lie down lower than the bed?  Or than in a mattress pulled down from bed? Or lower than the floor?  I'm happy I have no basement or cellar.  I'd be damned spending my time down there just lying down.  Unless some idjit takes me away and I'll definitely lie very low six feet below.  (I hope it's not going to be god, at that.)

Happy New Year of the Boar to all!  Specially to sis!!!

All of You just keep about what you're doing and be good at it (Ecclessiastes bull_s_).

Most of all, maybe your hand will try out at better blogging, you never really know. eh he, eh he, eh he!!!
